Dear
Sir, Madam,

Through
this motivational letter, I would like to put forward my candidacy for
enrolment in this course. By reading your programme available online, I have
found that it will best suit my goals and will help me to fulfil myself in both
professional and personal contexts.

I
am currently finishing my last year of gymnasium and I am trying to become a
better version of myself in order to achieve my goals. My biggest dream is to
enter the university, therefore, I am trying very hard: I am studying
independently, attending English courses at the language school and taking
private lessons. Moreover, I am fond of Russian and Lithuanian literature and I
have begun to read more English books and writings. Reading has been one of my
passions –
it has significantly impacted my life in many ways: it not only has increased
my vocabulary and broadened my mind, but it also
allowed me to enter into new worlds. As Virginia Woolf said, “Read a
thousand books and your words will flow like a river.” While reading, I often
use the dictionary, which helps me with the translation and semantics.
Furthermore, I use YouTube video clips to improve my English listening skills
and expand my vocabulary. My favourite channel is ‘JamesESL English Lessons’,
which helps me to start speaking like native speakers and inspires me to learn
English.

I
spend the rest of my time writing poems, listening podcasts and music, watching
historical and art movies in English to learn new words and phrases. What is
more, I have mastered a new style of dance – “The Vogue”. I have participated
in competitions individually and with the group, there were lots of ups and
downs. It has helped me to become more flexible, organized, think “out of the
box”, and most of all, it has improved my communicative skills.

My
greatest desire is to speak, write, read English professionally and to learn
another language. As Frank Smith said:
“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door
along the way.”
One
of the biggest advantages of studying abroad is the opportunity to meet people
from all over the world, share your ideas and experience a foreign culture.

The
after-school time period and studying abroad is going to be the one of most
challenging steps in my life, but I believe I can cope with any difficulties. I
am sure that I will be able to maintain high standards and am willing to
contribute to your university.
I hope that I have convinced you of my excellent capabilities and my passionate
motivation to start studying at your university.

Thank
you for considering my request. I am really looking forward to hearing from
you.

Kind
regards,
